Farming, fertilizer, and rotation

Checked 2026-11-05 ยท Lightyear Frontier 1.0

This page is the loop: soil, fertilizer, and why the next crop is not random. Growth days, yields, and prices stay on the crop list so the numbers have one home.

Wiki crop pages describe three mound types: nitrogenic, phosphoric, and potassic. Each crop has a soil that gives a high yield and a different soil that gives a mutated harvest. Anything else is an ordinary harvest. Fertilizer rewrites a mound into one of those three types, one fertilizer per soil. 0.

Rotation is the leftover soil. Shifting Gears introduced crop types and mound types and said the mix should push you to rotate. After a harvest, the mound's state is the reason the next seed either surges or mutates. The mutation page lists the 0.8 pairings crop by crop.

1.0 reworked fertilizer, mutated crops, and the farming HUD, and it added four crops. The English launch post did not name those four. Until a second public list exists, the new crops are a count, not a roster.

Questions

What are the three soils?

Nitrogenic, phosphoric, and potassic. Fertilizer sets a mound to one of them.

Where are growth days?

On the crops table. This page does not repeat a second set of numbers.

What are the four new 1.0 crops?

The launch notes say four exist and do not name them. I am not guessing names.
