Nickel Ore

For an early Nickel Ore search route, follow the rivers and sandy coast on the eastern side of Outset Grasslands before making a long trip to Hexagon Valley. A Steam player discussion independently describes the northeastern beach and the sandy boundary between the grassland and Hexagon Valley. These are area descriptions rather than precise coordinates. Mark a deposit when you locate it so the next equipment craft does not require another full coastal search. Keep ore and chunks distinct when planning processing: the deposit is the source, a chunk is a large object, and the ore is the material used by a recipe. Nickel does not need a Nickel Bar processing stage.

Obtaining it: Mine Nickel Deposits or break Nickel Chunks; the Mineral Crusher gives better yield from chunks than breaking by hand.

Main use: Early Mod Chips, mech equipment and Milestone 2-3 progression. Nickel is less common than Copper and usually needed in smaller amounts.
